Hi. Hello. It's Me.

You know - the world's worst blogger.

How is it that I can faithfully read other people's blogs EVERY DAY, but I can not seem to update my own blog on any kind of a regular basis? I suck at this ya'll.

Kumquat festival came and went. You can visit the website here. Not the greatest website in the world - but a new one is being worked on.

I Co-Chaired Dade City's first Motorcycle festival just a few weeks ago. You can visit the website here. Pictures of the actual event should be up soon.

Other than volunteering, event planning and work I have been filling my time with shoe shopping. I don't care how much my day sucks - a new pair of shoes always makes me feel better!

Tuesday night I went to see Nickelback in concert. I heart Nickelback. It was a great show. Trappt and Chevelle opened. Plus Nickelback ended with my favorite song Rockstar.

All in all it was an awesome evening - BUT - why do great concerts take place in the middle of the week? I didn't get home until 1am and then I was draggin ass all day yesterday.

Middle of the week concerts should be saved for people like James Taylor and Liza Minelli. I need my concerts to be on days that precede a day off from work. I missed a lot of beauty sleep that night.

So - I may have been neglecting my blog lately - but at least I have a few reasons.

Kumquat Day. My Favorite Holiday.

Finally the moment you have all been waiting for.................. Kumquat Season.

Well it officially started on November 15th. But the Festival is Saturday Jan. 28th.

This is my favorite time of the year ya'll. I love Kumquats.

They are so cute. And tiny. And orange. And you eat them skin and all.

I know you are all sitting at your computers saying "Kumquat" out loud and snickering to yourselves right now. I still laugh when I say it sometimes. But damn if I haven't become infatuated with the little fruit.

Kumquat Jelly, Kumquat Bread, Kumquat Pie, Kumquat Ice Cream, Kumquat Milk Shakes, I can keep going.

What? You have never heard of a Kumquat?

Well I live in the Kumquat Capital. And every year we celebrate with a huge festival centered around the little fruit. And a cook-off, and a beauty pageant, and so much more!

Go here to read more about Kumquats. You can even have some shipped to you so that you do not miss out on Kumquat Season. Just be sure you eat it skin and all. The skin is the best part.
